STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources oF,C
1313 Sherman St.,Room 215
Denver,CO 80203
« r
Phone:(303)866-3567 1876•
FAX:(303)832-8106
Roy Romer
Governor
Michael B.Long
January 24, 1994 Division Director
Mr. Larry Perino
Sunnyside Gold Corporation
P.O. Box 177
Silverton, CO 81433
Re: F-L Brenneman Secondary Bulkhead - Wall Irregularity, Sunnyside
Mine, File No. M-77-378
Dear Mr. Perino:
Based on the information submitted in your letter dated January 21,
1994, and on observations made by Jim Dillie and Tom Gillis during a
site inspection on January 20, 1994, the Division accepts that the
design assumption for wall irregularity is valid for the above
referenced bulkhead.
It can be seen from the information in your submittal that it is
difficult to quantify the degree of wall irregularity without an
extremely detailed survey of the bulkhead location. However, the
Division believes that the x-sections, long sections and plan sections
are useful to confirm wall irregularity. Your assumption that any
intrusion into the overlain x-section exists over the distance between
sections detracts from the conservatism of your analysis, however, the
analysis submitted is adequate to demonstrate that the intact rock
perimeter area irregularity is greater than 10 percent. Similar
measurements and analysis, along with qualitative observations, will be
acceptable for the remaining bulkhead locations.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Allen C. orenson
Reclamation Specialist
C: \WP51\SUNNY
