F-L Brenneman Secondary Bulkhead
Construction Certification Report
Page 4
Initially 8 holes were drilled into confirmed rock . The
approximate locations were;
1) left rib center at bulkhead center, 2) left rib-sill
intersection at bulkhead center, 3) left rib-back
intersection at bulkhead center, 4) back center at bulkhead
center , 5) right rib-back intersection at bulkhead center,
6) right rib center at bulkhead center, 7) right rib-sill
intersection at bulkhead center and 8 ) back center between
bulkhead center and bulkhead face.
All holes initially refused grout at 160-200 psi except the
back holes #3, #4 and #8 . These holes were pumped with grout
until it was evident that the grout was going out the back of
the bulkhead . They were then let set overnight and redrilled
into rock. They were again pumped with grout until grout was
seeping from the front of the bulkhead . They were let set
over the weekend and then redrilled into solid rock. This
time each hole would not take grout and each hole was
pressured to 200 psi . An additional hole #9 , was drilled to
the back center between the bulkhead center and back bulkhead
face as an additional check on complete perimeter coverage.
This hole did not take any grout and was pressured to 200 psi .
The bulkhead has been grouted around its perimeter to 200 psi
and all indications are that the low pressure grouting was
successful and complete.
The F-L Brenneman Secondary Bulkhead construction meets or exceeds
all design specifications and conforms to all design assumptions as
reported above. In addition, the commitment to place limestone at
the water side of the bulkhead has been completed . This was
accomplished by placing 7500 lbs of crushed limestone against the
water side of the bulkhead.
The approximate center of the water-side of the bulkhead is at
coordinates 17, 730. 34 N, 19, 178 . 36 E at an elevation of 11, 591. 90
feet. These coordinates are based on a coordinate system with USLM
Moultrie being at coordinates 11, 964 . 00 N, 20,000. 00 E at an
elevation of 12, 728. 73 feet.
Larry Roger Perino, P.E .
Colorado Registration #24138
cc: Patricia Nelson - CDH /A"c" . 18 . 19 L4.
