Anticipated June 18, 2012 to June 18, 2013 Activities <br />No new disturbances, within previously undisturbed areas, or permanent reclamation activities <br />are anticipated within the next 12 months at the Hopemore Shaft. No new map is required for <br />the Hopemore Shaft. <br />No new disturbances are planned for the Leadville Mill. Significant construction activities will <br />continue within the existing disturbed area. Exhibits TSF 01 and TSF 02 are submitted showing <br />the current disturbance outline and major proposed activities within the current disturbance area. <br />The mine disturbed area remains at 1.90 acres. The mill disturbed remains at 8.09 acres. Total <br />bond on the properties remains at $81,700 as determined by the Division in November 2007. <br />Calais, Hopemore Shaft and Union Milling Company (UMC) continue working on a new 110(2) <br />permit application for the Hopemore Shaft. It was anticipated that the application would have <br />been submitted in the previous year, however work continues on this application with submittal <br />anticipated during this year. <br />The Hopemore Shaft will continue operation as a Tourist Mine this summer. The Hopemore <br />Shaft activities anticipated for the upcoming year are reported below. <br />1) Conduct surface and underground tours. <br />2) Continued rehabilitation of the underground levels for tourist access. <br />3) Continued rehabilitation of underground utilities and ventilation. <br />4) New 110(2) permit application filing for the Hopemore Shaft. <br />5) Continued extensive care, maintenance and updating existing surface facilities. <br />6) No additional land will be disturbed; no additional land will be permanently reclaimed. <br />The mine disturbed area remains at 1.90 acres. <br />Calais continues to have an exclusive use lease of the Leadville Mill facilities and site for the <br />processing of Cross Mine ore. UMC remains contractually committed to treat Cross Mine ore at <br />the mill under the contract terms. UMC will initiate mill operations as the permits and <br />construction allow. UMC is targeting August 2012 for initiating mill startup. <br />Leadville Mill activities: <br />1) CDRMS TR -3 revision changing construction materials approval anticipated July 2012. <br />2) Mill equipment, replacement and repair summer 2012. <br />3) SWMP application July 2012. (No NPDES) <br />4) MSHA compliance anticipated July 2012. <br />5) TSF reconstruction anticipated August 2012. <br />6) Initiate mill startup August 2012. <br />7) Initiate removal of the sulfitic ore in the temporary ore stockpiles within 60 days of <br />resumption of milling operations. <br />8) Submit Environmental Protection Package (EPP), a.k.a. Exhibit U. <br />9) No additional land will be disturbed; no additional land will be permanently reclaimed. <br />The mill disturbed area will remain at 8.09 acres. <br />Annual Report <br />M1990 -057 June 11, 2012 <br />
