Part of the work currently scheduled for
1998 is construction of the Dutch Creek Diversion at the Mid-Continent
Resources Coal Basin Mine . This work is possible, in part, due to your
efforts to secure an Office of Surface Mining Civil Penalty Grant for
construction of the diversion.
Previously, the staff of the Western Support Center assisted us through
the development of the diversion design. We would again like to request
the assistance of your staff . Specifically, we would request that Hal
Pranger and Allen Wilhelm spend two days at the Coal Basin Mine in early
September with me to assist in locating the foot print of the diversion
on-the-ground. We believe it would be important to allow the designer
of the diversion to accurately locate the channel position, and to make
any other design adjustments deemed necessary in the field.
Thank you for your assistance with this project in the past and your
attention to this matter. Please feel free to contact me at (970) 2412-
0336 or 2148 Broadway, Number C-5, Grand Junction, Colorado 81503 if you
have any questions and to let me know if Hal and Allen will be
available .
Sincerely,
Steve Renner '
Project Manager
CC : Susan McCannon
