Renner <br /> Project Manager <br /> Division of Minerals & Geology <br /> 2148 Broadway <br /> Suite B-8 <br /> Grand Junction, CO 81503 <br /> Dear Steve : <br /> Reference is made to your letter to Lou LaGiglia dated <br /> October 8, 1997 concerning the status of the demolition in Coal <br /> Basin. <br /> As you know, the U. S . Forest Service is in the process <br /> of acquiring the Preparation Plant tract and have acquired 55 <br /> acres on the easterly end of the property. <br /> Another acquisition is pending on the Winter Park <br /> exchange which, it is anticipated, will include the area where <br /> the Preparation Plant and bathhouse were located. <br /> The remainder of the property will be subject to <br /> acquisition at a later date by the Forest Service under their <br /> expressed intention of completing the acquisition. <br /> However, until the United States acquires these <br /> properties, we must assume they may be liquidated by sale to <br /> individuals in 35-acre parcels, in the event the United States <br /> does not proceed with the acquisition. <br /> Therefore, we have requested that the water tank near <br /> the site of the former bathhouse, the metal building located next <br />
