ROADS A, B, C, D, HUNTSMAN (1999)
Road A, in conjunction with other roads located further to the west in Coal Basin is to be
reclaimed in a manner consistent with the reclamation accomplished on Roads E, F, G in 1996.
In general, the road prism will be left in place, but the road ditch and culvert system will be
eliminated and the road will be graded so that water sheds toward the outside, rather than inside,
hill slope. Rolled dips will be created to promote drainage and minimize outslope erosion. The
road surface will be ripped to enhance revegetation potential. The road surface will be
revegetated. To the extent vegetation is absent or not functional, the slopes adjacent to the
roadway will be revegetated as well.
Reclamation in this manner will help to control runoff from the road surface and adjacent slopes,
and therefore reduce resultant erosion. As the basic road prism will remain in place, access to the
Lamp House will not be precluded, should it be desirable.
C: \sgr\recplan.wpd
28
