You indicated to Mr. Austin that you were forwarding additional concerns to our office, and that these additional concerns could impact and should be considered in our response to your initial complaint. I wish to thank you in advance for the consideration you expressed to Mr. Austin which will assist us in preparing a complete and timely response to your concerns. In accordance with the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act, your statement has been transmitted to the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). The Office of Surface Mining (OSM) received DMG's response to your initial concerns on March 30, 1998, and has forwarded the response to our Regional Solicitor's Office for a legal review. Upon legal review and final examination of DMG's response to both your initial and subsequent concerns, you will be promptly informed of the results. If a Federal inspection is necessary, you will be notified as far in advance as practicable and will be given the opportunity to accompany the Federal inspector on the inspection.
