6. What percent survival are you getting in the trees?
Two hundred trees were planted on the south facing Outslope near Mine 1. One hundred
trees were planted with protective tree shelters, while one hundred were not protected by
tree shelters. Of the 200 trees planted, 142, or 71% survived. Of the survivors, 47.8%
were protected by tree shelters, and 52.2% were unprotected. Interestingly, the
protected trees appeared to be healthier and more robust than the unprotected trees,
even though their survival rate was slightly less.
Please feel free to contact me at if you have additional questions or comments.
,Sincerely,
r
'even G.
