<br /> Dear Pitkin County Commissioners:
<br /> Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
<br /> Statutes, the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on
<br /> January 2, 1992, an application to revise (road stabilization) a permit to
<br /> conduct coal mining operations, File No. C-81-017, (PR - 002) , by
<br /> Mid-Continent Resources, Inc. , P.O. Box 1298, Glenwood Springs, Colorado
<br /> 81602, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews and
<br /> comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder
<br /> initiate from this day of filing.
<br /> The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the
<br /> Coal Basin Mine, located approximately four miles west of Redstone, Colorado.
<br /> The affected permit area lies within Sections 31 and 32, T9S, R89W; Sections
<br /> 5-8, 10-12, 14-21 , 28-30, TIOS, R89W; Section 36, T9S, R90W; Sections 1-2,
<br /> 11-14, 23-25, T10S, R90W; all in the 6th Prinicipal Meridian in Pitkin and
<br /> Gunnison Counties, Colorado. A coal loadout facility located approximately
<br /> one mile east of Carbondale, Colorado in Garfield County is not affected by
<br /> the proposed revision.
<br /> The revision application addresses drainage modifications , stabilization and
<br /> sediment control for the road system within the mine permit area.
<br /> The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle
<br /> maps of Placita and Elk Knob. A copy of the permit revision application is
<br /> available for public inspection at the Pitkin County Courthouse, 506 E. Main,
<br /> Aspen, Colorado. Written comments , objections or requests for an informal
<br /> conference on the permit revision application may be submitted to, and
<br /> additional information obtained from, the Mined Land Reclamation Division,
<br /> Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
<br /> Written comments. objections or requests for an informal conference must be
<br /> filed at the Division by 5:00 p.m. on March 2, 1992.
