(5) Rock spoil disposal area <br /> Spoil material from the construction of the <br /> rock tunnel and the disposal of preparation plant coal refuse <br /> (temporarily for three months) will amount to approximately <br /> 750, 000 cubic yards and will be placed in a designated 13 . 5 acre <br /> disposal area. The tunnel spoil material will be trucked to the <br /> disposal area and spread and compacted to Colorado Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Board specifications . The perimeter slope of the <br /> disposal area will be maintained at the ratio of 2H: 1V or less . <br /> The outslope of the fill area will be terraced and/or benched at <br /> intervals of approximately 30 feet . <br /> Prior to disposing of any rock in the desig- <br /> nated area, the ground will first be cleared of vegetation with <br /> bulldozers and the topsoil salvaged and stockpiled in accordance <br /> with applicable regulations . The salvaged topsoil and B Horizon <br /> material will be stockpiled and revegetated with the 8 , 000 foot <br /> elevation seed mix. Revegetation and reclamation of the outslopes <br /> of the refuse disposal pile will be implemented in vertical lifts <br /> of 50 to 60 feet . Initially, 8 to 12 inches of topsoil will be <br /> placed on the final rough-graded surface. See Appendix II-B-5 <br /> and Exhibit II-B-4 for maps and cross-sections of the rock-spoil <br /> disposal area . <br /> The following grasses and shrubs will be <br /> planted in late fall on the spoil disposal area: <br /> I 39 <br />
