Road A. Length is 6,400' long, with an average grade of 8.19.
The majority of the road cuts are in soil and their height is
limited below 40 feet. Most of the cut slopes are steep (up
to 60%) , the minor part are steeper. The majority of the
fills are low (below 20 feet) , the remaining fills are less
than 40 feet high.
Road B. Length is 3,4001 ,, with an average grade of 10a. The
major part of the road is agin in thecut and fill
configuration. Nearly all road cuts have been excavated in
soils; the height of the cuts is limited to no more than 40
feet. All cut slopes are steep (up to 60t) ; no steeper slopes
have been identified. The majority of the fills are low
(below 20 feet) ; the remaining fills are not more than 40 feet
high. All fill slopes appear to coincide with the angle of
repose (30 to 4531) .
Road C. 15,8001 in length, average grade of 8.0t. More than
half the road is in cut and fill configuration, and nearly 20t
of the road length has no significant earthwork. The majority
of cuts are in rock, and are under 40 feet in height. A few
cut slopes stand over 60 feet high. The slope of cuts tends
to be relatively steep, usually up to greater than 602. The
majority of fills are less than 20 feet high and have been
constructed at the angle of repose (30 to 45--- ) Fills
occasionally range up to greater than 40 feet in height, at
the angle of repose.
Road D-A. 6001 in length, at a grade of 9.2%. Half of the
road is in cut and fill construction and the other half is in
cut only. Cuts are either in rock or mixed soils and rock.
Heights of cuts ange up to a maximum of 40 feet, and none are
less than 20 feet high. Angles of cuts are steep, often
exceeding 602. Fills are low, and range up to 40 feet in
height. All fill slopes stand 30-452, the approximate angle
of repose.
Road E. 6,2501 in length, average grade of 8 .5t. Most of the
E road is in cut and fill configuration. Road cuts are
distributed between soil and rock. Most cuts are less than 40
feet in height, but ocasionally range up to 60 feet high. Cut
slopes are steep, with many cuts steeper than 600- Fills are
generally less than 40 feet in height, but exceed 40 feet in
a few locations. Again, all fills are constructed at the
approximate angle of repose (30-452) .
Road F. 13,400 feet in length, with an average grade of 8.5t.
Again, most of the road is constructed in cut and fill . The
majority of cuts are in rock. Heights of cuts range up to 60
2
