MID-CONTINENT RESOURCES, INC.
P.O. Box 1298
Glenwood Springs, CO 81602
July 2, 1992
RECEIVE'-)
Anthony J. Waldron JUL 2 3 1992
Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division D!v
1313 Sherman St. MINERALS & 6't0L06Y
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Request(s) for extension of the review period - P.R. 2, T.R. 23.
Permit CO-81-017.
Dear Mr. Waldron:
Mid-Continent Resources, Inc. requests an extension of the period for review of the
pending revisions (P.R. 2 and T.R. 23) until July 22, 1992. As the Division's review of
the last submittals, which were in response to the Division's adequacy review(s), is not
yet completed, the decision date of July 2, 1992 seems infeasible. The extension will
allow for completion of the review by the Division, and formulation by the applicant of
any further response which may be necessary.
The revisions relate to work to be done over a several year period by the operator of
the mine. Mid-Continent Resources is, of course, the current permittee, and we
anticipate that Crystal Springs Coal, Inc. will succeed as operator of the mine.
Accordingly, consultation between our respective companies is necessary before
responses or commitments can be made, and we do require some time for these
communications.
Given these considerations, we believe the extension is necessary and reasonable for
due consideration of these proposed revisions.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Resources
