Dear Doug :
With the upcoming summer , you will have to get ready to
construct the test sections for the reclamation of the haul roads
and mine benches. We have done some work on this project recently
and , in order not to delay the construction , we have prepared
some descriptions and some typical cross-sections of the proposed
test sections .
I believe with these documents you could prepare the con-
struction of these sections without �•aiting for the analyses
which we are doing for this purpose. I am enclosing for you:
1. Description of the proposed six test sections, including
the description of stability problems, reclamation con-
cept , method of reclamation and analytical con-
siderations. Included for each section there is also the
proposed location. The proposed location is only general
in most cases, and you will have to decide where exactly
the section is to be located .
2. Typical cross-sections of five of the proposed cross-
secti ons ;Section No. 6, Severe Erosion Area, can be l o-
cated at any convenient location. I hope you w'_ 1 : be
able to identi `y a suitable area for this purpose) . I
be'_ ieve that you could Droceed with the construction of
the reclaimed sections according to these cress-
sections.
We feel that you could proceed with the construction of the
reclaimed test sections at any time convenient to you. In the
meantime , we will proceed with the analyses, and we shall be
ready to prepare a report on the sections at any time after you
have decided on the accurate locations of the test sections.
