The rock tunnel refuse pile itself will be redesigned (presently being
done by Geo-Hydro) to take the additional cubic yards of material.
The reason this temporary use is necessary is that construction of the new
(Sutey) refuse pile will not be completed for approximately three to four months
depending on the presently pending permit; and also on the depletion of the old
refuse pile area and subsequent changing over of the conveyor belt system during
Miners' Vacation July 9 to July 18, 1984. We realize this is a short time
period; but if we cannot start the wash plant on July 19, the wash plant and
associated truck-haul personnel would have to remain on vacation until the plant
was able to start up.
The entire hydrologic rock tunnel system will be completed by July 18, including
a total of three sediment ponds and all clean and dirty water ditches.
All associated vegetation and topsoil will be removed and stockpiled as per our
approved rock tunnel plan.
All disturbed areas, i.e. , pond banks, berms, ditches, etc. will be revegetated
following construction.
As this whole plan falls inside our previously approved hydrologic plan for the
rock tunnel, we respectfully submit this letter as our application for this
Technical Revision.
Please call me if you require any additional information.
Sincerely,
" lci&ajj
Environmental Coordinator
DWBowman:ms
