The centerline is staked at 100 ' intervals and
the profile and cross-sections were surveyed in by Schmueser
& Associates, Inc. The grade is almost constant and the grade
average is 7.14% .
You will note that the road leads to one drill pad between the
two proposed gas well locations. We have been advised that we
can reach the desired locations in the coal seams by directional
drilling from this one pad location. This will eliminate
constructing roads around the open alpine meadow where the
vertical projections of the well locations are indicated on the
map.
This road location is so close to the top of the ridge that the
run-off from rain storms or snow melt is minimal . The four culvert
locations are where springs (seeps) exist. We will use 18"
culverts to minimize blockage at the four locations .
Dr. Wayne Cook and Tom Colbert have collected vegetation and soil
samples along the road location. In conjunction with Doug Bowman
they are preparing the reclamation plan.
We had a cultural resources survey conducted along this access
road in 1979 by Grand River Institute as part of a core drilling
program planned at that time. I am enclosing excerpts of that
report that pertain to this road section.
