We are
currently experiencing ongoing problems with our irrigation well system due to depleting water
tables. We have conversed with a local engineer and the local Division of Water Resources
office here in Pueblo. It appears the nearby mining operation (Evans Pit #2 DRMS Permit
#2000 -041) located southeast of our farm is creating this situation due to the dewatering of a
very large excavation of aggregate.
I have also had a limited conversation with Berhan Keffelew who has suggested this letter would
be the direction to take to bring about a resolution to this situation_
Please contact me at the following telephone numbers at your earliest convenience:
(719) 240 -2575 — Cellular (Preferred telephone number)
(719) 948 -2014 -- Office (Secondary telephone number)
E -Mail — Jfs57 comcast. net
Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you soon in regards to this matter,
Sincerely,
John Sliman
Owner
Southwest Farms Inc.
(719) 948 -2014 • Toll Free (866) 948 -2014 • E -Mail: info@southwestsodfarms.com
