Hernand Alysha
rW
From:
Sent
To:
Cc:
Subject:
Hello, Ross
During my inspection on May 1, 2012, you mentioned that now that WFC has purchased the Lloyd property, it might be
beneficial to WFC to be able to shift the IP (25.62 acres) further to the west. This change would make use of a side roll
sprinkler feasible, in lieu of the currently approved gated pipe and furrows,
1 discussed this issue with Sandy Brown upon my return to the office. A review of the permit has brought to fight some
complicating factors. Post - mining topography and land use, as approved with PR -06, appears on Map 2.05.4 - 5. it is not
clear that the reclaimed topography for the WFC (formerly Johnson) property, west of the Lloyd. parcel, will be
conducive to the use of side roll sprinklers; the slope of the eastern side of the WFC parcel is noticeably steeper than
that on the Lloyd IP area.
A more significant issue may be the topsoil thickness. As shown on Map 2.05.4 -7, topsoil replacement thicknesses on
the eastern portion of the Lloyd parcel are an average of 21 inches. The average thickness for the western Lloyd and all
of the WFC parcel is only 13 inches. Revegetation success would be more difficult to achieve on the thinner soils.
If Western Fuels does choose to pursue a modification of the location of the I
will be required.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Mcireiri
Marcia L.
