Our comments are <br /> listed below. <br /> 1 . In addition to the one revised application page which lists the <br /> small area exemption sites , the narrative justification of small <br /> area exemption status , description of sediment control measures , <br /> monitoring commitment and site diagrams with supporting <br /> calculations should be paginated or otherwise designated for <br /> inclusion in the permit document. <br /> 2. Proposed sediment control measures , such as earth berms , straw bale <br /> checks , etc . , lshould be depicted on the site diagrams . <br /> 3. For those sites where total containment berms are the proposed <br /> sediment control method, berm dimensions need to be specified, and <br /> calculations demonstrating that the berms would not be overtopped <br /> by the 10-year, 24-hour storm runoff event need to be be included <br /> (see MR-17 demonstration) . An acceptable alternative to the total <br /> containment berm approach would be the provision and maintenance of <br /> clean rock or gravel surfacing, in combination with filter fence or <br /> straw bale sediment checks , where feasible. The gravel surfacing <br /> approach might be preferable, due to the fact that containment <br />
