and no less than six inches (6") in length(front to back), with a back slope angle which <br /> does not exceed forty degrees (40°) as measured parallel with the outslope gradient. <br /> The depressions or benches must be offset so that when constructed, no two parallel <br /> depressions or benches are closer together than the width of any one individual <br /> bench or depression. When constructed on the steep slopes, parallel depressions or <br /> benches must not be separated by more than eighteen inches (18"). <br /> The imprinter or similar machinle proposed to be utilized by CONTRA CTOR will be <br /> inspected by PROJECT MANAGER or other designated representad ve of the OWNER <br /> prior to the machine being accopted for use at the project. PROJECT MANAGER or <br /> other designated representative of the OWNER may reject the machine offered if the <br /> machine does not appear to be sufficient to accomplish the project specifications. <br /> OWNER reserves the right to inspect the imprinter or similar machine of the apparent <br /> low bidder prior to awarding the bid. If the imprinter or similar machine of the <br /> apparent low bidder does not appear to be capable of accomplishing the job <br /> specifications, the bid may be rejected by the OWNER. In order to avoid rejection <br /> after opening of the bid, BIDDERS are encouraged to bring their machine to the pre- <br /> bid meeting for approval. <br /> Prior to initiating work with the imprinter, fertilization of the outslopes will be <br /> accomplished. Commercial fertilizer is required for this project. Fertilizer shall be <br /> provided by CONTRACTOR, and shall conform to Section 20.2 (commercial fertilizer) <br /> of the Revegetation Specifications, attached. Fertilizer shall be applied as per the <br /> attached specifications. <br /> Each mine bench or road outslope designated for treatment by the imprinter or <br /> similar machine will be completely treated by such machine. Each slope shall be <br /> treated from top to bottom and side to side. Note that many of the slopes are irregular <br /> in shape, which will require careful maneuvering of the equipment to ensure complete <br /> coverage of the designated sloes. PROJECT MANAGER will mark the perimeter of <br /> the outslopes to be treated prior to CONTRACTOR beginning operations. <br /> CONTRACTOR is responsible for repairing any damage which may be inflicted to the <br /> reclaimed lands immediately above the outslopes to be revegetated. Repair may <br /> include, but may not be limited to, grading, ripping and revegetation. Any <br /> revegetation which is required to be accomplished shall be done according to the <br /> requirements of section 20.0 of i the General Specifications, 1996, wh ch is attached. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Payment for this task will be at the prices established in Item 3 of the Bid Schedule per <br /> acre treated. Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, <br /> materials, equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the installation <br /> 9 <br />
