- Mid-Continent
Avalanching from these slopes deposits sediment beyond the interceptor ditch,
carrying it to Area C, from which it is carried into the sediment ponds of outfall 016.
As indicated by the illustration, (black arrows) there are four major avalanche paths
down the steep slopes of Areas A and B. The avalanches carry sediment for which
Outfall 016 is the only eff-ctive means of sediment control during runoff and, in the
case of areas A and C, during precipitation events.
It is the position of Mid-Continent that these factors make necessary and warrant the
continuation of the precipitation exemption.
Yours very truly,
V`L
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Resources
4
