RE: Application of Settleable Solids Standard(s) during
precipitation events.
Dear Mr. Mathews:
Enclosed please find excerpts from Mid-Continent's ODES permit
concerning application of settleable solids standards for outfalls
016 and 001 during precipitation events, including snowmelt.
Included as well is correspondence between the Department of Health
and Mid-Continent concerning continued application of the
stormwater exemption to the 016 ponds.
Finally, I have included a copy of our precipitation record, which
is used to indicate ' precipitation events for purposes of
determining when the settleable solids standards would apply.
On another matter, the Department of Health has published the
notice concerning the amendment to our CDES permit for the water
treatment plant which was permitted by the MLRD as TR-17. I
anticipate receiving the amendment during May. As you may recall ,
approval from the Department of Health was a condition for approval
by the MLRD of our amendment request.
