Mid-Continent submitted a report concerning these
features in a letter dated October 25 , 1988 .
On September 26 , 1989 , the area in which the surface cracks
had previously been noted was examined as required.
The area was examined again on August 29 , 1990 , by Tom
Johansen, Chief Engineer, James Reeves , a temporary employee
and Assistant Professor of Geology at the University of
Texas - Permian Basin , and myself . Other areas that could
potentially be affected by subsidence were examined as well ,
specifically portions of the surface over longwall panels
102 , 103 , 208 , 210 and 211 ( 103 and 211 are currently-active
panels ) .
A series of breaks in soil cover were noted on the back side
of the ridge near its top at the southeast end of the broad
meadow that extends from the NE1/4SE1/4 , Sec . 18 , T. 10 S . ,
R. 89 W. , to the SW1 4SW1/4 , Sec . 7 , T . 10 S . , R. 89 W.
