that all newly mined landscape boulders will be stored in this same
area and will not be part of the unsuitable material stockpile.
Projected annual mined totals will vary according to market demand
and may be Tess or more than projected.
The processing area is at approximately 9000 feet elevation and is
located on a bluff several hundred feet above the San Miguel River.
Therefore, the excavation and mining will not disturb any
groundwater. The mining and processing operations do not use any
water and does not need any dewatering. No impacts to existing water
rights are anticipated.
The reclamation plan creates a graded and re- vegetated surface that
returns the mined area to preliminary grades. The reclamation grading
will allow runoff to flow in an easterly direction to the airport runway.
This grading plan reestablishes the historic drainage pattern.
Reclamation will be contemporaneous.
There is an existing area (approx 80' long x 2' wide) of Canadian
thistle along the south fence that has been treated and will continue to
be treated as needed.
Silt fences will be installed and maintained along the north east corner
of the permit area where runoff occurs, to treat storm water runoff
and retain silt before it's discharged onto the 7:1 slope outside of the
permit area.
