Subject: Sedimentation Pond Inspection
On 56p/ 7 /9yr/ ian inspection was made of all Mid-Continent
Resources , inc.- sedimentation ponds in Coal Basin
and at the loadout facility in Carbondale.
The purpose of this inspection was to ensure that all of
the ponds were stable and hazard free, and to satisfy the
requirements of Rule 4 .05.6 (11 ) (c) and 4 .05.9 (10) (6) of
the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division's Rules and
Regulations for Coal Mines.
The inspection consisted of a visual inspection of
embankments , spillways and outlets, and a measurement of
water and sediment levels and discharge volumes. Water
levels were based on measurements made using a prodding
stick and knowledge of the last clean-out date.
As noted on the attached inspection sheet, all of the ponds
are in good shape and are in compliance with Mined Land
Reclamation Division's Rules and Regulations.
