INTEROFFICE CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Date: September 28, 1988 <br /> To: John Turner <br /> From: Scott Jones <br /> Subject: Sedimentation Pond Inspection, Third Quarter 1988 <br /> On September 15, 1988 an inspection was made of all Mid-Continent <br /> Resources , Inc. sedimentation ponds in Coal Basin and at the <br /> loadout in Carbondale. <br /> The purpose of this inspection was to ensure that all of the <br /> ponds were stable and hazard free and to satisfy the requirements <br /> of Rule 4. 05 . 6 ( 11) (c) and 4. 05 . 9 ( 10) (6) of the Colorado Mined <br /> Land Reclamation Division' s Rules and Regulations for Coal Mines. <br /> The inspection consisted of a visual inspection of embankments, <br /> spillways , and outlets, and a measurement of water and sediment <br /> levels and discharge volumes. Water levels were based on past <br /> survey information. Sedimentation levels were based on <br /> measurements made using a prodding stick and knowledge of the <br /> last clean-out date. <br /> As noted on the attached inspection sheet all of the ponds are in <br /> good shape and are in compliance with Mined Land Reclamation <br /> Division' s Rules and Regulations. <br /> Scotty ones, P.E . <br />
