5. Excavate upstream section of the diversion between diversion contours 8,050 feet and <br /> 8,080. Salvage rock encountered during excavation (Map Item 5); <br /> 6. Haul and place rock from rock berm (Map Item 4) to the upper section of the diversion <br /> (Map Item 5); <br /> 7. Haul and stockpile rock from rock berm (Map Item 4) to the west side of the diversion <br /> (Map Item 6). Sufficient rock must be hauled to cover the remaining portion of the <br /> diversion (Map Item 7); <br /> 8. Grade area east of the diversion, leaving temporary diversion in place; <br /> 9. Excavate remaining portion of diversion between contours 8,035 feet and 8,050 feet <br /> (Map Item 7); <br /> 10. Haul and place rock stockpiled in number 7, above (Map Item 6), to the portion of the <br /> diversion excavated in number 9, above (Map Item 7); <br /> 11. Divert Dutch Creek into diversion; <br /> 12. Complete final grading on west side of diversion. <br /> Surveying <br /> OWNER will periodically survey work completed in order to determine whether the constructed <br /> diversion coincides with the specifications of this contract. Should the PROJECT MANAGER <br /> determine that work completed is not within accepted tolerances of the specifications, the <br /> PROJECT MANAGER may direct the CONTRACTOR to accomplish remedial work before <br /> continuing with work currently in progress. Such action will not constitute a changed condition, <br /> and the CONTRACTOR will accomplish such work at his/her expense. <br /> Measurement And Payment <br /> There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this Task will be reflected in a lump <br /> sum bid under Item 2 of the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for construction <br /> of the diversion to the design specifications, and for sediment control as necessary during the <br /> construction process. Payment shall be made as this Task is completed and approved by the <br /> PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> TASK 3: EQUIPMENT RENTAL <br /> Additional areas in and adjacent to the project area may require slope reduction, excavation or <br /> erosion control work. A CAT D-71-1 or equivalent 215 FHP machine with operator, a CAT 416E <br /> Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 fhp machine with operator, and a five (5) cubic yard on/off <br /> highway end dump truck with operator shall be furnished for additional work as needed. <br /> The hours outlined in Item 3 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. All work will be <br /> accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, attached. <br /> 10 <br />
