PROJECT WORK DESCRIPTION <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />The goal of this project is to accomplish demolition and disposal of all concrete, block <br />wall and asphaltic materials located within the Project Area. Miscellaneous trash and <br />debris will be collected and disposed of. Sediment control structures will be erected and <br />maintained during the project. Map 3, Project Area, delineates the extent of the area <br />affected by this project. <br />The work area is generally located within 2,500 feet of the main entry gate. The areas are <br />accessed via compact dirt road. However, access to some areas is adversely affected <br />by muddy conditions. <br />Volumes, distances and areas stated in this document are estimations only. <br />CONTRACTORS are responsible for verifying all estimations prior to bid submittal. <br />WORK TASKS <br />The tasks included in the project are as follows: <br />Task 1: Mobilization and Demobilization <br />Task 2: Demolition <br />Task 3: Silt Fence Installation <br />Task 4: Equipment Rental <br />TASK 1 MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION <br />This task shall comply with specification 1.0, Mobilization/Demobilization, attached. The <br />cost of Mobilization and demobilization shall include such items as providing security to <br />ensure pedestrian and vehicular traffic are well away from the work area should any <br />foundations be blasted, obtaining appropriate insurance for blasting, should any be <br />done, locking of the mine gate during the life of the project, and maintenance of a <br />hazard -free work place. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a <br />lump sum bid under Item 1 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs <br />for Mobilization and Demobilization. Payment shall be made as described in <br />specification 1.0, Mobilization/Demobilization, attached. <br />7 <br />
