ti
ditch located above and immediately south of Coal Creek and the
Dutch Creek Flume.
The Project Areas is sub-divided into West, Central and East work
areas. Map 4, Project Area, depicts these areas. Demolition and
disposal will be accomplished at each work area as described below.
West Work Area
*Concrete foundations which supported the Sutey Refuse Disposal
Area conveyor and associated stacking equipment, wall and building
foundations are the dominant structures requiring demolition in
this area. This work area extends north across Coal Creek to
include conveyor belt foundations in that area. All concrete,
cinder block and asphaltic structures and materials located in the
West Work Area will be demolished to a depth of three feet (3' )
below ground level as measured immediately adjacent to each
structure.
Rubble produced from this work area will be removed for disposal to
the back wall located at the southern portion of the work area.
The disposal area boundaries will be marked in the field by PROJECT
MANAGER. The rubble will initially be placed against the backwall ,
and shall extend to no further than the perimeter of the disposal
area. The rubble shall be placed as tightly as possible within the
disposal area, and will be spread as evenly as possible from south
to north. Rubble shall be deposited in the disposal area in such
a manner so that void spaces are minimized, and so that the top of
the rubble is level. No piece of rubble or debris may exceed a
height of eighteen inches (1811) above the mean elevation of the
surrounding material . The outslopes established by disposal of the
rubble may not exceed 3 .5H:1V upon completion of the Project. The
height of rubble when placed in the area shall not exceed eight
feet (8' ) as measured from ground level immediately adjacent to the
disposal area.
Central Work Area
All concrete, block wall, and asphaltic materials as well as
miscellaneous debris and materials located within the designated
demolition area will be demolished and transported to the adjacent
disposal area.
Demolition will occur within a one hundred twenty feet (1201 ) wide
corridor near the northern boundary of the work area. The
demolition corridor begins at the low concrete wall adjacent to the
perimeter ditch located just above and south of Coal Creek. The
demolition corridor extends south for one hundred twenty feet
(1201 ) . The southern boundary of the demolition corridor shall be
marked in the field by PROJECT MANAGER. All concrete, block wall,
and asphaltic materials as well as miscellaneous debris and
materials located within the demolition corridor shall be
demolished to a minimum depth of three feet (3' ) below ground level
as measured from ground surface immediately adjacent to each
3
