Equipment Required (With Operator) <br /> - Caterpillar D-7H or equivalent 215 FHP dozer,with operator <br /> - Caterpillar 416B backhoe/loader or 74 FHP equivalent,with operator <br /> - Ten (10) cubic yard on/off highway rear dump/haul truck, with operator <br /> - Caterpillar 12G Motor Grader or 135 FHP equivalent, with operator. <br /> The General Bid Specifications, 1996, Section 19.0, Equipment Rental, are applicable to this Invitation to <br /> Bid. A copy of Section 19.0 is attached. <br /> Machine time is NOT guaranteed, however, if a particular piece of equipment is used, it will be used for a <br /> minimum of eight(8) hours. Equipment bid costs for the first eight(8) hours (Bid Schedule Items 1, 2, 3, <br /> 4, 5, 6, 7) shall include the cost of mobilizing and demobilizing the piece of equipment to and from the site. <br /> Any time above 8 hours for a single mobilization event will be paid at the rate bid for additional hours (Bid <br /> Schedule Items 1 a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a,7a). A single mobilization event is the time during which a piece of <br /> equipment is on-site and utilized prior to being released by PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> CONTRACTOR will be used on an "on call" basis, and must be available at the site with the specified <br /> equipment by 9:00 a.m.the morning following notification by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> Although machine time is NOT guaranteed, it is estimated that the dozer and backhoe/loader may be <br /> used for up to 32 hours each, and that the motor grader could be used for 24 hours. Depending upon site <br /> conditions, additional utilization of any one piece of equipment may be required. <br /> Sediment Control <br /> Sediment control measures may be installed at some areas. CONTRACTOR will supply prefabricated silt <br /> fence with posts (Mirafi Prefabricated Silt Fence with Posts having a 2-foot width and 3 feet between <br /> posts, or equivalent), or straw bales and rebar, as specified by PROJECT MANAGER. Silt fence,when <br /> used, shall be installed as per Figure 1,Typical Silt Fence Installation, attached. Straw bales,when used, <br /> shall be placed flat on the ground surface. Dirt shall be shoveled in front of the bales in order that water <br /> cannot seep under or between bales. Two (2),four feet(4') lengths of three eights inch (3/8")diameter <br /> rebar shall be driven through each bale. One length of rebar will be installed eight inches(8")from each <br /> end of a bale. The rebar shall be driven through the bales and into the ground so that no more than four <br /> inches (4")of rebar is exposed above the bale. Sediment control measures shall be placed in locations <br /> designated by the PROJECT MANAGER. Use of these materials is NOT guaranteed. <br /> Rip Rap Materials <br /> Durable rock rip rap materials may be utilized to protect stream banks, if needed. Acceptable rip rap <br /> materials will consist of angular rock composed of granitic or metamorphosed materials. Sandstone and <br /> shale materials are not acceptable. Rip rap materials will be sized so that the narrowest dimension of any <br /> one rock is no less than twenty four inches (24"). PROJECT MANAGER may reject any rock which is <br /> undersized, rounded or composed of unacceptable materials. CONTRACTOR may be directed to obtain, <br /> deliver and place rip rap materials if the need arises. Use of these materials is NOT guaranteed. <br /> 3 <br />
