M- 2006 -034
Reclamation Accomplished to Date (Including 2011):
Reclamation Accomplished During 2011:
No reclamation was accomplished during 2011.
Submitted: 10 June 2012
Colorado Calumet Company Inc. operated mechanized equipment on the Blue Streak No.
1 from 29 June to 5 July 2011 in Teller County, Colorado to produce amazonite, smoky
quartz, fluorite, goethite, and other related pegmatite mineral specimens. The John Deere
690 which was being used, broke down, resulting in only 5 operating days. The machinery
was fixed on site and removed on 30 July. Only Site L and a small portion of Site M
remain unreclaimed under this permit.
Attached is a map which shows the four claims covered under this mining permit. The 14
permitted excavation sites are labeled by letters A through N and are indicated by dashed
lines, either rectangular or circular, on the map. An orange area within a permitted site
indicates an open excavation where work will resume during next season. Presently there
is one at Site L, crossing onto Site M. Green shaded areas are excavations that have been
refilled, recontoured, and reseeded. Blue shaded areas indicate reclamation over 80 percent
regrowth. Sites A and B on Blue Streak No. 2 are considered to have 80 percent regrowth.
Approximately 0.27 acre was opened on Site L and the edge of Site M on Blue Streak No.
1, resulting in a total of 0.45 acre open in addition to roads.
A total of 1.55 acres has been disturbed and reclaimed since 2006. This does not include
the access roads connecting Sites A, B, C, D, and E. The access mad to Site D remains
open.
Trees and shrubs that have been previously planted show about an 85 percent survival rate.
Grass is showing evenly across the reclaimed sites but is sparse due to three seasons of low
