PUBLIC NOTICE <br />New Elk Coal Company, LLC, 122 West First St., Trinidad, CO 81082 the operator of the <br />Lorencito Mine, Permit number C -1996 -084, is filing for a technical revision (TR -17) to the <br />mining permit with the State of Colorado, Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. For <br />filing purposes, this application was deemed complete by the Division on MONTH DAY, <br />YEAR. <br />The Lorencito Canyon Mine is located approximately 20 miles west of Trinidad, Colorado, <br />Townships 33 and 34 South, Range 66 West, Section 33 and other unplatted lands on the Hill <br />Ranch. The Hill Ranch is generally located southeast of Weston, Colorado. The mine permit <br />area is approximately bounded by the South Fork of the Purgatoire River on the west, <br />Highway 12 on the north, Lorencito and Bonita Canyons on the east and little Alamosa <br />Canyon on the south. Map 2.03.4 -1 and Exhibit 2 of the permit application contain the <br />lengthy, detailed legal description of the permit boundary. These lands can be located on the <br />Tercio, Weston, and Little Pine Canyon USGS topographical 7.5 minute quadrangle maps. <br />This technical revision addresses minor permit updates requested by Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety in their midterm permit review document. Tables in the permit are to be <br />updated and a noxious weed control plan is to be added to the permit. <br />A copy of the proposed revision is available for public inspection at the Las Animas County <br />courthouse, Office of the County Recorder, and at the offices of the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, CO, 80203, (303) 866 -3567. Written <br />comments regarding this application may be submitted to and additional information may be <br />obtained from the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety at the above address. Written <br />comments must be received by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety within 10 days <br />after the date of this publication in order to be considered. <br />Date of Publication: WEEKDAY, MONTH DAY, 2012. <br />
