The site inspection was conducted by <br />Marcia Talvitie and Wallace Erickson of the Division. Skies were clear and temperatures were <br />warm. The general area was extremely dry, due to a lack of precipitation received during the <br />preceding weeks. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />• Mine records were available for review at the offices of Goff Engineering in Durango. A <br />completed DRMS Availability of Records Form is included with this report. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures <br />4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments <br />4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />• All areas within the permit were exceedingly dry, including Carbon Junction Canyon and the <br />Carbon Junction Arroyo. No standing water was observed in any of the ditches, including <br />the portion of the East Collection Channel adjacent to the paved haul road. <br />• The rip- rapped Carbon Junction channel was in good condition. <br />• Casings of two wells were located, extending above the ground surface. Based on Map 4 -3 <br />(Wells and Springs) of the permit, they appear to be Well 82 -4/PW 1 (Photo 1) and Well 82- <br />5E 10 (Photo 2). <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />• Weed control efforts appear to be meeting with success; very few thistles were seen, <br />compared with previous inspections. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 Page 2 of 5 <br />
