Maple Leaf Industries
did not comply with the conditions of the bid and mixed the small
seed with the larger seed. I informed Maple Leaf of this error and
that I would have to return a portion of the seed order but that we
would be able to use all of Table 2 and Table Table 3 as these
would be used for broadcast seeding. Maple leaf was asked if they
would like to replace the Table 1 seed and they declined stating
that they did not have some of the seed available. Steve Renner
will arrange to have the 19 acres of Table 1 seed returned to Maple
Leaf.
The reclamation plans for the Coal Basin reclamation projects
include 19 acres of Table 1 seed drilled and 22 acres of Table 2
seed drilled. A phone bid was done with the 2nd and 3rd low
bidders since the quantity of seed was reduced and the rate for
each species was adjusted per Dan Mathews and MCR. The Seed Bid 2
requirements for delivery were considerably shortened to August 15
due to the needs of the Sutey and Old Refuse Pile reclamation
project.
