The following amendments and clarifications should be <br /> incorporated into the Invitation for Bid: <br /> 1) The silt fencing to be installed shall be Mirafi Silt Fence with Posts, or equivalent as approved by <br /> the PROJECT MANAGER. The silt fence fabric material shall be three (3) feet in width. Posts shall be <br /> spaced at 8.3 feet on center. Silt fencing shall be installed as per manufacturers specifications. <br /> 2) Foundations and other concrete or concrete block building remnants which shall be covered by a <br /> minimum of four (4) feet of material as a result of backfilling and grading operations do not need to be <br /> demolished and removed to the highwall for disposal. Some of the foundations and building remnants <br /> which are located near the highwall and near the east side of the Mine 3 bench area may be disposed <br /> of in place provided that a minimum of four (4) feet of earthen cover is placed over them as a result of <br /> the backfilling and grading operations contemplated in this Invitation to Bid. <br /> 3) Hydro mulching and hydro seeding of the outslopes below Mine 3 bench, Intermediate Coal <br /> Transfer Area bench and the Lower Bench Area and of the highwall backfills at each of the three work <br /> areas may be substituted in place of hand mulching and broad cast seeding. <br /> 4) Prior to application of seed and mulch to the outslopes below each of the work area benches, the <br /> outslopes shall be roughened and scafified. This•may be accomplished by dragging a log or other <br /> suitable object across the outslope faces. The object-to be drug-across the face_s would be suspended <br /> by a cable from equipment located at the benches. <br /> 5) All terms and conditions of the Invitation and Bid other than as changed by this amendment <br /> remain the same. <br /> 6) Receipt and acceptance of this amendment shall be acknowledged on the bid form. <br /> Please note that the Mine 4 pre-Bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 1995. The meeting <br /> will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Coke Ovens located across from the south entrance to Redstone on <br /> Highway 133. <br /> m:4mp�spr. ne3am <br />
