Additional areas which :night be developed include
the Hayes Creek Basin , the Lee Creek Basin and the McClure
Pass slope , some 2 , 320 acres which, however , are not included
in either the permit or mine plan areas . (.See Appendix VI-D-
1) .
In the area south of Coal Creek to Huntsman Ridge,
which includes the permit and mine plan area (s) , estimates
of skiable terrain include :
From Bear Creek to Spring Creek, south of the
present plant site .
East of Spring Creek, to the center of Sec . 19 .
The "Hump" in the western part of the area , in
Section 9.
The "Slot" west of the No . 5 mine portal , across
Sec . 6 , into Sec . 5 .
From the No . 4 mine portal , down to Dutch Creek
and to Bear Creek.
Sec . 4 and 5 areas below the No . 5 mine portal
area, on exposures varying from east to south.
Within those areas , lift and slope possibilities
include : Bear Creek to Spring Creek
--From the top of the Hayes Creek Divide to 8 , 000 ' .
Would allow a vertical drop of 2 , 870 ' in a horizontal dis-
tance of approximately 11 , 000 ' .
--Novice runs of about 4 , 000 ' on a 15-20 percent
grade from a lift based on the "reshaped" borrow pit sites .
