December 15, 1993 -5- 933-2713
Summary
Determination of conjunctive flow in Cement Creek is proposed to be completed utilizing
various investigative methods, including the following:
► Surface water flow measurement;
► Geophysical characterization;
P. Borehole drilling;
► Piezometer installation;
► In-situ and laboratory testing; and,
► Routine monitoring of the surface water flow and the piezometers.
It is our opinion that the proposed scope of work will provide reliable results from which to
draw conclusions regarding potential impacts of tunnel plugging on conjunctive flow in
Cement Creek. While the methodology is considered sound, minor changes in monitoring
locations may be required depending on site conditions. It should be recognized, however,
that various environmental factors unrelated to tunnel plugging (such as temperature and
precipitation) can also have an effect on conjunctive flow and should be accounted for before
assigning impacts to tunnel plugging.
Sincerely,
GOLDER ASSOCIATES INC.
40 /
Ward E.
