Sorenson
Reclamation Specialist
Dear Mr. Sorenson:
On 25 Oct 93, 1 wrote you a letter concerninq the closing and
destruction of the Sunnyside Mine in San Juan County, near Silverton,
Colorado. On 3 Nov 93 , you answered my letter.
The Chairman of the San Juan County Commission, Mr. Ernest Kuhlman,
and Commissioner Richard Perino recently wrote you another letter, again
asking that the Sunnyside Gold Corporation be absolved from the
responsibility of having to treat the mine water. It appears that you
intend to ignore all reasonable requests, and force Sunnyside Gold to
install the concrete bulkheads in the portals, thus flooding and destroying
the mine. By forcing this action, you may be destroying the livelihood and
future well-being of the town of Silverton and the residents of San Juan
County. You and your staff, in later years, may have to bear personal
responsibility for these actions.
We, as tax payers in San Juan County, wholly endorse all requests, and
confirm all data provided in Mr. Kuhlman and Mr. Perino's latest letter.
Sincerely,
red P. Clark
FPC/lh
0
