Responses to Division Concerns
Page 2
Table 1 provides a comparison of actual footages
(referenced from AT-P3) to the "track repair footages"
referenced in the Simon Hydro-Search report (February 11 ,
1992) . AT-P3 will be used as the origin (distance = 0 ' )
for all future footage references in the American Tunnel.
b) Flow from the Sunnyside Mine in comparison to flow from
the American Tunnel portal .
The flow that originates on SGC property (Sunnyside Mine)
as compared to the total flow from the American Tunnel
portal has been monitored periodically since March, 1992.
Flow measurements were taken from Parshall flumes
installed at convenient locations close to the property
line and outside the portal . Using a straight arithmetic
average or a time weighted average, 66 - 67% of the
American Tunnel flow originates from the Sunnyside Mine
(SGC property) and would be impounded by the proposed
bulkhead.
c) Proposed bulkhead site in relationship to Sunnyside Mine
workings.
SGC has not developed underground workings (ie rock
excavations) outbye of the proposed bulkhead site. The
0700 runaround and its flow contribution is inbye the
proposed bulkhead site with only undeveloped tunnel being
downstream of the proposed bulkhead. The reference point
discussion in Part 1 a) and Table 1 explain the reason
for confusion as to the location of the 0700 runaround in
relationship to the bulkhead site (See Figure 1 , page
15) .
TABLE 1
AMERICAN TUNNEL - DISTANCE REFERENCE CONVERSION (Feet) :
Simon Hydro-Search
(February 11 , 1992)
"Track Repair Footage " AT-P3 = 0 Comments
8150 10080
7350 9145
- 8157 property line
8127 flume
- 7950 bulkhead site
6400 7852
3420 3976
2700 3226
2400 2941
0 - '
This site is in the concrete ditch between the portal and
reagent feed building.
