Reclamation activity during the 2000 reporting year (April 2000 to <br />March 2001) consisted of site cleaning, maintenance of vegetated <br />areas, completing the Tailings Pond No.4 upland groundwater <br />interception and runoff diversion, placement of a secondary near <br />surface bulkhead in the Terry Tunnel and surface reclamation of the <br />Terry Tunnel site. <br />In the following sections of this report, environmental activity <br />during the 2000 reporting year and planned environmental activity <br />for the 2001 reporting year is discussed on a site by site basis. <br />A summary of acreage permitted, disturbed, and undergoing <br />reclamation is presented in Table A (page 2). <br />AMERICAN TUNNEL PORTAL AREA - Plate No. 1 <br />During the 2000 reporting year, no additional acreage was disturbed <br />or reclaimed. <br />Reclamation and environmental activity during 2000 consisted of; <br />1) general site cleaning. Solid waste was disposed of via the <br />local landfill collection company and scrap steel was stored <br />for eventual shipment for recycle. <br />2) maintenance of stormwater runoff controls. <br />3) treatment of water discharge from the portal along with <br />diverted Cement Creek water according to the CDPS Permit for <br />this site and the related Consent Decree agreement with CDPHE. <br />Treatment included periodic cleaning of the settling ponds <br />with a mudcat dredge and tanker trucks. The material removed <br />was hauled to the Mayflower Mill- Tailings Pond No.4. <br />There were no discharge permit parameter violations during the <br />2000 reporting year. <br />4 <br />) <br />Activities planned for 2001 are; <br />SITE RECLAMATION ACTIVITY <br />APRIL 2000 TO MARCH 2001 <br />monitoring and maintenance of vegetated areas. <br />1) annual site cleanup. <br />2) maintenance of stormwater drainage controls. <br />
