-3-
All of the data presented for the lake sediments test plot (Plot I) indicate
that the ProMac Systems treatment has been effective in significantly
reducing acid formation and creating a more beneficial environment for the
establishment of vegetation. Tom Colbert, president of IMS, stated in his
memo dated September 21, 1989, "I am very encouraged by the appearance of
the plots as I saw them last week. There appears to be a very marked
treatment effect, especially in the non-topsoiled plots. The control plot (I-
1 ) has virtually no seedling establishment, whereas the two ProMac treated
plots (I-3 and I-4) have good seedling establishment."
The data for the topsoiled water rock plot (III) does not appear to compare
waste rock to waste rock, but rather untreated waste rock to untreated
topsoil and, therefore, no conclusions can be drawn until further sampling of
the waste rock is done.
