Phone: 303 - 854 -7499 Email: h1humphries2 a?comcast.net
Section 3.1.5 Reclamation Measures, subsection (1) — (11); Section 3.1.6 Water —
General Requirements, subsection (1) — (5); Section 3.1.7 Groundwater; Section 3.1.8
Wildlife; Section 3.1.9 Topsoiling, subsections (1) — (8); Section 3.1.10, Revegetation,
subsection (1) — (8) and Attachment I, Weed Control Program.
We believe the commitments made within these sections will address impacts to the
ecosystem.
➢ Use of explosives — No explosives are proposed to be used as part of the
surface exploration operations.
➢ Duration of the proposed prospecting operation — The permits submitted
for this exploration operation are for 11 months, 29 days. This period of time was
necessary in order to allow for the various agencies permitting processes to be
completed. Some agencies may complete their permitting process in several months
while others may take much longer. Once all permits are in hand, the actual on -site
surface exploration operations may run about 2 to 3 months; with drill pad reclamation
occurring after all surface core holes are completed.
Air quality, to include exhaust, chemical fumes, air born particulate
pollution — Given the size and duration of the proposed surface exploration
operations, an air permit is not required. Gold Hill Minerals, Inc. has made the following
commitment in or Notice of Intent to the DRMS as to fugitive dust, "Even though an Air
Emission Permit is not required, Gold Hill Minerals will take appropriate measures to
control fugitive dust. Such measures include occasional road watering as required. The
drilling operation will use water to lubricate the drill bit. No fugitive dust should occur
from drilling activity." All vehicles used on site will meet emission standards applicable
to the vehicle. No chemical fumes, other than fumes from gasoline and diesel fuels will
occur. No other low vapor pressure chemicals will be used at the site.
➢ On -site hazardous materials and hazardous waste — Notice of Intent,
Section 3.1.5(5) states, "All refuse due to exploration drilling operations will be
removed and disposed of in an approved facility off -site. No acid forming or toxic
producing materials are expected. All core hole drill cuttings will be buried in the
cuttings pits, backfilled, compacted, the topsoil replaced, then seeded and mulched. For
those drill pads within the road right -of -way, only backfilling, grading, and compaction
will occur."
13
