November 1998 Monthly Report
Page 4
Evaluation of the normalized data:
The index value of +0. 089 for November, 1998 indicates that the
dissolved zinc concentration at the reference point A-72 was
significantly higher than the mean value of the data for the
intermediate flow class. In comparison to the November 12,
1997 sample result, the 528 ug/1 is higher (528 ug/l verses 442
ug/1) but the flow was also lower (129 or less cf s verses 147
cfs) which would lead to a prediction of a higher zinc
concentration.
Since the index value is less than +2.01 Sunnyside does not
plan any additional monitoring or re-analysis.
The 12 period moving average of index values for dissolved zinc
at A-72 (graph attached) rose to +0.36 in November. This rise
is small (+0.31 to+0. 36) and is probably due to annual
variations in hydrology. It is still well below the critical
value of +0.577.
If you have any questions on this report, please contact me.
I certify under penalty of law
that I have personally examined Sincerely,
and am familiar with the information ^
submitted herein: and based on my 9
inquiry of those individuals '
immediately responsible for Larry Perino
obtaining the information, I Reclamation
Manager
believe the submitted information
is true, accurate and complete.
I am aware that there are significant
penalties for submitting false
information, including the possibility
of fine and imprisonment.
