Consistently positive ABP numbers were obtained from the Drainage
Trench ' s walls and from material stockpiled during excavation of
the Trench. These locations are labeled as Mouth , South 50 ' ,
South 100 ' , and 88050-7.
It is the intent of Sunnyside Gold to utilize the open-pit waste
to reclaim Lake Emma. We feel that this is the best solution to
both the reclamation problem and the long-term waste storage
problem. As the attached test results illustrate, there are a
wide variety of material types, both mining-related and natural ,
in Sunnyside Basin. We do not feel that perfect pH balance is
realistic or even possible when even the natural surroundings
vary so widely. We do feel , however , that with proper
utilization of resources in the Basin, both natural and
mining-related , an environmentally sound open-pit waste disposal
and lake hole reclamation plan is possible .
- 4 -
