Records were checked on
May 23rd and the site was inspected on May 24, 2012. The inspection primarily covered the loadout, as the mine
site was too muddy to access, except for the north culvert (set of two pipes). The weather was cloudy. No snow
was on the ground, but it was very muddy at the mine site and slightly muddy at the loadout.
A two -track trail leads to the property to the north of the loadout, and several tracks were seen on the roads on the
loadout area.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05:
At the mine site, the north culvert (two pipes) was not clogged, and no other problems were identified.
The Best Management Practices for sediment control from the reclaimed pond area are functional, but some
maintenance is required: the silt fence needs to be keyed in better. Also, additional BMPs are needed below the
pile of soil at the southeast corner of the bridge.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE:
The loadout was found to be in general compliance with the permit. Not enough of the site was observed to
determine if it is in compliance. Trash (e.g., scrap metal, tires) needs to be removed at the loadout.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 2 of 7
