Northfield Partners LLC (Northfield) submitted an NOI and bond for proposed 13
core holes in September 2011. Six core holes were constructed in Sections 22 and 23, T1 9S, R70W with one
completed as a groundwater monitoring hole. The remaining five core holes were sealed. Three core holes
were completed within the approved coal mine application boundary. Of the requested 13 holes, four locations
(NF -05A, NF -07, NF -08, NF -09) were not cored.
Exploration began in early December 2011. By December 19, 2011, all the core holes were completed and
sealed. The Abandonment Report is included with this submission. Core hole BC -02 was completed as a
monitoring well with PVC casing the full depth, steel casing the top 40 feet and a locking steel well cap. The
well is documented with Division of Water Resources as MH -50261 should the project move forward.
The enclosed map locates each constructed and sealed core hole. All core hole locations were accessed from
existing trails. No access roads were constructed. No drill rigs or test equipment are currently located or
operating in the exploration area.
Initial reclamation was performed on all disturbances due to exploration in mid -April 2012. The work included
spreading of drill cuttings on the drill pad areas, redistribution of all available topsoil on the drill pads, grading
drill pad areas, and broadcast seeding of the approved seed mixture.
All proposed drilling activities are completed as requested under NOI AM -02. Reclamation activities will
continue until vegetation is established in accordance with Division performance objectives.
Please feel free to call me at 719 - 275 -8951 with any questions.
Respectfully submitted,
Angela M.
