May 21, 2012 C- 1980 - 001 /Edna Strip Mine RDZ <br />happened yet, but the roadside ditch should be re -cut to facilitate drainage to the culvert to the south, or the <br />potential problem should be otherwise addressed. <br />The area south of Moffat Pond and the area southwest of the West Ridge Pond were inspected for springs and <br />seeps. No flowing or dry springs or seeps were found. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />The mine was found to be in general compliance with the permit. <br />The fence at the Moffat Pond remains damaged near the southwest corner. Posts have been bent and the wires are <br />lying on the ground. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03: <br />The following roads were inspected: North Road, Lower Moffat Road, and West Ridge Road. No problems were <br />observed with the road surfaces. However, there is a potential problem with roadside drainage that should be <br />addressed, as discussed in the Hydrology section. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />Some weeds were observed near the Moffat Pond: Houndstongue was seen east and south of the pond, and thistle <br />was seen south of the pond (approximately a quarter mile. Otherwise, the area inspected appeared to be in good <br />condition as no gullies or other problems were observed. However, the north end of the site, where previous <br />inspections revealed problems with contour ditches, was not closely inspected during this May inspection. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />No problems were identified at the facilities area. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />Entrance signs were observed and found to be in compliance. <br />ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS /COMPLIANCE <br />No enforcement actions were taken as a result of this inspection, and none are pending. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
