BACKFILL/GRADING PLAN FOR PREPARATION PLANT AREA
1. Cross-section A-A Wash Plant - Thermal Dryer
40,000 +/- Rubble from wash plant
6,000 +/- Soil material
Total: 46,000 cu.yds.
2. Cross-section A-B Bathhouse and Engineering Area
10,500+/- Rubble from bathhouse/engineering
6,000+/- Soil material
Total: 12,000 cu.yds.
3. Cross-section C-C Savage Shop/Yard Area
10,800+/- Cut & fill, plus some rubble from
Savage Shop.
1,200+/- Soil material
Total: 12,000 cu.yds.
TOTAL: 104.000 cu. yds.
The plan is for placement of rubblized material from the buildings
in the preparation plant area against the toe of the hillside back
of the preparation plant area. Available soil material will be
used to cover the rubble.
The preparation plant area was constructed prior to passage of the
Act, and no soil materials were salvaged. The estimates of soil
material are what is anticipated to be available for backfilling of
this area.'
' Mid-Continent believes acceptable post-mining contours
can be achieved without the use of coal refuse materials
for fill, and this plan of 6191 contemplates no such use.
