TECHNICAL DISCUSSION <br /> The objective of this proposal is to present a program designed to <br /> measure and analyze the response of strata to mining of a thick coal seam <br /> by multiple lift longwall mehtods. The following technical discussion <br /> outlines the engineering approach Mine Subsidence Engineering Company pro- <br /> poses to complete the required work. To attain the aforementioned objective, <br /> the total effort has been broken into five major tasks. The proposed program <br /> schedule showing the timing and execution of these tasks is shown in Figure I. <br /> Task I - Proposed Site <br /> One requirement for responding to this RFP was that the contractor pro- <br /> vide a site where the investigation of surface subsidence over a c _�ltiple <br /> lift mining operation could be conducted.
