MONITORING FREQUENCY
Mid-Continent monitors and reports surface and groundwater in compliance with
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) effluent requirements and the
Colorado River Salinity Standards (CRS), 1973 as the basis for evaluating the effect the
mine operations may have on surface and ground water quality and quantity.
During the preceding permit term, TR-4, approved Aug. 11, 1986, allowed for
modification of the water monitoring program.
As approved, samples are taken bi-annually, during peak flow, in June, and low flow, in
October.
