CONTAINMENT REQUIREMENTS (Coal Mines only) <br /> For Discharge Point 001 , 006, 007,008,009, 010, 011 , 012, 013,014,015,016,017 <br /> nd 018 Qnly. <br /> Tie facilities shall be designed, constructed and maintained to <br /> contain or treat the volume of water from active mining areas , <br /> preparation plants, and associated areas which would result from a <br /> 10-year, 24-hour, precipitation event. The term "10-year, 24-hour <br /> precipitation event" means the maximum 24-hour precipitation event with <br /> a probable reoccurrence interval of once in 10 years. <br /> Within 90 days of the effective date of the permit , the permittee <br /> shall submit verification that the facility has been designed, <br /> constructed and maintained in accordance with the criteria above. <br /> This verification shall also identify the gauge station used and the <br /> 10-year, 24-hour precipitation figure (in inches of rain) . <br /> Such verification may be in the form of a letter or other indication <br /> from the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, the Federal Office of <br /> Surface Mining, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, or other <br /> appropriate agency acceptable to the Colorado Water Quality Control <br /> Division, stating that the above criteria have been met. <br /> STORM EXEMPTION* <br /> Any overflow, increase in volume of a discharge, or discharge from a <br /> by-pass system, which is caused by precipitation or snowmelt, shall <br /> not be subject to the limitations set forth in PART 1-A-1 Page 3 of this <br /> permit.
